Basilan National High School
The Basilan City High School opened its doors to the public in 1950 with one hundred twenty nine (129) students enrolled; ninety-eight (98) students in the first year and thirty-one (31) in the second year. Under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Rustico Navarro, as the first principal (1950-1955) and with the cooperation of the teaching staff composed of fifteen (15) teachers, the school progressed and in 1953, it graduated thirty-nine students.
During the incumbency of Mrs. Corazon T. Ceniza, the school was nationalized by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 709 which took effect on May 27, 1975. The school had an enrolment and graduated three hundred twenty-five students.

Basilan national high school with school ID no.303894, was created in June 1, 1950 with his previous name basilan city high school. it is located at the Leroy S. Brown st., Isabela City, Basilan. It is around 3.5 kilometers from the city proper.
The current principal is Dr.Lyna H. Basri,Ed.D. CESE, principal V with the two asst. Principal for Academic Affairs in the person of Margarito Reyes Ed.D. principal 1 for junior high school and Ma. Gine A. Tura for senior high school,with approximately 350 teachers both junior and senior high school. The school is an independent unit.
